Hey folks! Today's Postpone update is all about a single, huge new feature: The Content Library.

The Content Library adds these great new capabilities to Postpone:

  1. Upload images and videos directly to Postpone; no need to use Imgur anymore.

  2. Select images from third party apps you already use such as Google Photos/Drive, Dropbox, or Instagram.

  3. Edit images with transformations such as crop, flip, mirror, and enhance.

  4. Take photos and videos using your webcam (optional).

  5. Submit direct image/video posts to SFW subreddits.

Let's dive in!

Adding Content to the Content Library

Adding your content to the Content Library is simple: either upload content to Postpone or select from third-party apps like Google Drive or Dropbox. You can add content to the Content Library either while scheduling posts or on the new Content Library page.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Head to the Content Library.

  2. Click the Add files button.

  3. Drag and drop your content, or select from a third-party app.

  4. Click the Add button.

Your files will then upload to the Content Library.

You can now choose from these files while scheduling a post. Simply click Choose a file, select the Content Library tab, and pick the image you'd like to submit. Easy peasy!

Content Library Sources

You may already manage your photos using a third party storage app. With the Content Library you can now import content from the following sources:

  • Google Drive

  • Google Photos

  • Dropbox

  • Instagram

  • OneDrive

  • Box

  • Imgur

The Content Library supports these popular apps + Imgur.

Editing Images

Need to rotate or crop an image? No problem. The Content Library supports editing images before submitting them.

You can use any of the following transformations:

  • Crop

  • Enhance

  • Flip

  • Mirror

  • Rotate

  • Grayscale

  • Invert colors

  • Blur

Take Photos and Videos with Your Webcam

The Content Library adds support for taking photos with your device's webcam then scheduling posts with those photos... all without leaving Postpone!

Here's how you can use your webcam:

  1. Navigate to Schedule a Post.

  2. Select the Image & Video post type.

  3. Click Choose a File.

  4. Select the Camera tab.

  5. Provide permissions to Postpone.

  6. Choose your webcam, smile, and click Take a photo.

Note: Webcam support is completely optional. Postpone won't have access to your webcam unless you provide explicit permission, which can be revoked at any time.

Just look at that handsome lil rascal.

Submitting Direct Image and Video Posts

Before today, Postpone only supported scheduling Post (content), Poll, and Link post types. The Image post type would upload your image to Imgur.com, then submit that as a link. That meant that Postpone did not support Reddit's "Images & Video" post type, where an image or video is submitted directly to the subreddit. That changes today.

Starting today, Postpone supports submitting image and video posts directly to subreddits.

Please note that this feature supports SFW subreddits only. Reddit does not allow third parties like Postpone to submit image or video posts to NSFW subreddits, so we'll continue to upload to Imgur.com for submissions to those subreddits.

To submit an image or video post, simply select the newly updated Image & Video post type while scheduling. Choose a file from the Content Library, add your subreddits, then click Schedule Post.

Your Data is Yours

The Content Library is a powerful new way to manage your content in Postpone. Your data is entirely yours, though, not Postpone's. That means you can delete your content from Postpone at any time and the images or videos will be deleted for good.
